Kettlebell Sport is growing in Georgia!

IMG_2720

I just returned from a short but sweet trip to Georgia. I taught a Kettlebell Sport workshop at CrossFit Sweetwater in Douglasville, where I got to meet a group of my Facebook kettle-friends in person! My fellow Team USA member Teri even drove up from Sarasota, Florida to lift with us.  Continue reading

Techniques and training methods shouldn’t be a “secret”

I love teaching people what I know about Kettlebell Sport.

I’ve only been doing the sport for four years, so like everyone else I am still learning. What I know is probably just a small portion of the knowledge that more experienced coaches (who have spent their lives in the sport) have.

But I have a lot to share with you! Continue reading

Reviews of my Kettlebell Sport workshops:

“Brittany van Schravendijk is a leader in the sport as an athlete and teacher, with training experience next to great lifters and coaches. The Snatch workshop with Brittany is an experience worth having. There were many golden nuggets that we walked away with and now utilize in our practice and curriculum at Girya Garage. No matter how many hours or years you have under your belt, take the opportunity to work with Brittany and see the results for yourself.” – Will P.

Are kettlebell workshops with Russian coaches worth the money?

Honestly, I’ve always been skeptical about paying to do a workshop with Russian Kettlebell Sport athletes and coaches.

First of all, I have the idea that some of them think it’s their way or the highway – meaning they only teach their specific technique, even if it’s not applicable to your body type and lifting style.  Continue reading

Attitude is everything

When approaching any situation in life, your attitude dictates the outcome. If you believe you will fail, you will. If you believe you will succeed, nothing can stop you.

I firmly believe that happiness and success come to those that decide to be happy and successful – choosing to be positive and take what life throws at you as a challenge rather than a burden makes all the difference.  Continue reading

Doesn’t everyone lift kettlebells during a tornado?

Beautiful Austin sunset.

Over Memorial Day weekend 2015, I traveled to Austin, Texas to compete in the Texas Open Kettlebell Sport Championships. I left with a couple of bags and my lifting shoes, and came home with an Absolute Champion trophy, a new PR, a weightlifting belt, tons of new kettle-friends, more kettlebell knowledge, great memories, and the desire to go back and visit again soon!

First things first: Results!  Continue reading
