And the bell went flying...
Despite the weather being a balmy 100 degrees and our gym being packed, we had a good turn out and great performances at the USAKL Bolt Kettlebell Sport competition on Saturday!
KOR had a strong team showing of 17 athletes (our team is growing fast!). I'm proud to say my students demonstrated good technical proficiency with the lighter bells (12-16kg), which is something I impress upon them is NECESSARY before moving up to the heavier weights.

Stephen - 12kg OALC - 105 repetitions
As the title of this post suggests, the 24kg green monster bell went flying during my set, around 40-something repetitions on my right hand! I pushed my grip too far, which would have been a disaster at a single hand switch competition... lucky for me, this was Bolt so I picked the bell back up and kept going.
(Skip to minute 3 for the exciting part...)
All in all, I'm pleased with my own sets and super impressed by my athletes' performances. Coaching Kettlebell Sport has been more rewarding than I could have imagined!
Shoutout to Erik, Dan, Kristen, Eric, Mike, and everyone who contributed to putting together this event.
Thanks to everyone who came out - look forward to another meet at KOR Strength and Conditioning in the not too distant future!
