I set a North American record in Long Cycle

I'm full of CHU from last weekend's OKC NorCal competition!

Discussing the future of Kettlebell Sport in America with Kettlebell friends old and new is one of my favorite ways to pass time. This weekend got me extremely excited to train hard, grow the sport, and post about relevant issues to drive the sport in the right direction.

A few highlights from the weekend:

Setting the North American record for 2x16kg Long Cycle for women: 95 repetitions in a 10-minute set (with my dad there to see it!).

Lifting and pacing with 5x World Champion Denis Vasilev for a 5-minute Long Cycle set at the OKC instructor certification.

Getting invaluable coaching and advice from Denis; he is a knowledgeable teacher and extremely humble sportsman. Not to mention he speaks great English, so there is no language barrier. I would highly recommend his seminars especially to advanced Kettlebell Sport lifters.

Winning a pair of Adidas Adistar weightlifting shoes as a prize for overall best female athlete in Long Cycle.

Watching my KOR teammates Dan and Emily put it all out there on the platform - Dan improving his 24kg Biathlon score and Em being only 2 reps away from MS. Shoutout to honorary KOR Strength teammate Erik for a huge 20kg Snatch PR!

Teaching Snatch to a great group of lifters at the OKC certification and watching them complete their practical tests - with a lot of heart, I might add - at the end of two days of learning.

Visiting Ice Chamber and visiting with many of the great people there (who I truly love and miss!).

Connecting with numerous kettle-friends, many of who told me they read my blog or follow me on social media, and that I inspire them. That makes me so happy and excited about the direction I am going in life - and I'm going to keep working hard to give you all more!

What do you envision for the future of Kettlebell Sport in the U.S.? Any takeaways from lifting this week or last weekend, at competition or at home?
