Find Your Line Handstand Workshop

Learn the technique for a strong, straight handstand line that will not only allow you to balance longer, but will be the foundation for numerous advanced hand-balancing skills.

My philosophy for hand balancing is to first build the mobility, stability, core strength, and shoulder endurance required to handstand safely, then to find your balance point, and finally to adjust alignment and tension to strengthen your handstand. If you try to have perfect alignment and tension before finding your balance point, it may take you a very long time to be able to balance. If you first learn to balance, even if your alignment is not perfect, alignment and tension can slowly be adjusted to create a stronger shape and longer holds.

We will work on learning the hollow body handstand in this workshop, which is not the only type of handstand, but the shape that best transfers over to all other advanced handstand skills (press up, stalder, hollow back, one arm, etc). Once you “find your line”, you will have everything you need to continue on your handstand journey! Whether you are completely new to handstands or already practicing on your own, this workshop is for you.

In this workshop, we will cover the 10 components of a successful handstand:

  • Mobility

  • Stability

  • Shoulder endurance

  • Balance

  • Hand placement

  • Alignment

  • Core engagement

  • Tension

  • Focus

  • Commitment
