The Muscle Building Cardio Workout

One of the things that made me fall in love with Kettlebell Sport training was the fact that it was the most difficult type of workout I had ever done. If you know me, you know I like a challenge, and this challenged me like nothing else. Not just technically, but physically and mentally as well. As a runner who thought she had pretty good cardio to begin with, I was shocked by how much training to last 10 minutes under a kettlebell improved my cardiovascular fitness. As someone who already trained with weights, I was pleasantly surprised to find how much my strength increased from lifting kettlebells for endurance. And of course, my mental tenacity for any kind of physical pain grew tremendously after suffering through a 10 minute set. You want me to do 100 burpees? Climb a mountain? Run for 3 hours? That's a piece of cake once you've made it through a long kettlebell set.

The benefits I gained manifested themselves aesthetically as well (see the above picture). While I considered myself fit before I started lifting kettlebells, I got in the best shape of my life doing kettlebell endurance training!

All the benefits of kettlebell endurance training can be yours too!

Today's workout is a great start. While it's NOT a 10 minute set, we will be utilizing the Sport lifts (Jerk and Snatch) for an amazing muscle building cardio workout! At the end, we will also sneak in some pulling exercises (for balance!) and my new favorite core exercise (make sure you have sliders or a smooth floor available!).
